SUGGESTIONS
/ A couple things |

Zilv'afien here,
I just had a couple of suggestions. Some simple and minor, some a little bit bigger. Really all in the area to attract and keep new players.
First, I think that we should space out the module name instead of having it cityofdohral. Possibly,
City of Dohral (CEP)
Same with the server name, just make it look prettier to attract new players.
Second, I think that the starting area is a little disorganized and a tad bit confusing to any new player that logs in. I mean they come into an area with chests everywhere just randomly placed, and signs that are spread all about and hard to read.
I just think we should make the starting area a bit more simple, and more organized so it's attractive to new players logging in.
As well as just make the server name more attractive to gain more players. I'm not saying change the name of the server, but making it better looking would surely bring more players in.
Also - I saw someone in game today with sort of a non roleplay name, because it was in all caps...
Are there any rules on names here?

Ask A DM
/ DM'S, Time for you guys (and girls) to have fun |

Ok, i have been playing this server for about two weeks, and it is the best rping server i have played, and i have played them all. Now, i know all of you dm's have been busy with the new server (ODA and Erin espically) and other things, so i think a little "stress reliver" is called for. My current pc, Fangress, has no memories what so ever, so i need your guys and girls help to make her background. It is completly up to you to decide what her past is, and/or what she is at that matter, so any subraces may be applied to her (she is human by the way). The only exceptions is that she has to be able to somehow find out her past [not just remember out of no where] and that she does not originate from you land. Any comments are welcome. And thanks for everything you guys do!!
Ok, now i really dont want is disorganized, like one dm says something, and the other says something else, so i want you all to "work together" and keep it one story, not ten (fell free to talk about it here). And i want you all to have fun, no matter the consequences to me, for i have backups. So GO WILD!!!

Sorry about that! I neglected to get a message on the forum last night to notify you nice folks that there was a server maintenance event scheduled for last night and I had to take the nwnserver down for that event. It is back online now and in good order. ENJOY!

PC Profiles and Journals
/ Thane Williamson |

Thane Williamson- Thane Williamson grew up in a small farming village in a nameless town, nameless in the sense that no one has ever heard of it but its residents, not even the Lord who taxes the people knows the name or where about. Thane grew up simple, learning to farm from his father. The towns men and elders always gathered at the local pub that had a inn attached. Very few travelers stayed at the inn. But when the few did come, they would tell grand stories of adventure. Thane loved when travelers came to tell stories. The town also had a legend about a great hero who saved the town from evil. The hero was named William, and Thanes family clames direct relation to him. Thane wants to become a great warrior and wizard. The legend of William’s tells that he was a great warrior with a great sword, but also had fierce arcane magic. Thane hopes to make his father proud, but this is almost impossible. His father was a good strong man that worked hard to take care of his family. In an orc raid his father was killed defending his farm. Thane is not as big or strong as his father was. Thane hopes one day to have a wife and family, and one day have a farm of his own to care for. But that is in the future. Now Thane wants to travel and have adventure and make a name for himself, but mostly to raise money to buy his farm and find a wife. Thane is about medium height of about 5’ 10”. He is not extremely strong, but can hold his own in a fight. He has a scar on his left arm from an attach from a wolf when he was only Thane is very smart for his up brining. He is kind and gentle most of the time, but can be come heated and angry. The biggest turning point was the death of his father when he was 14. After that his almost death from the attack when he was ten.

Just 'off the cuff' observations and replying only to the items that sparked a question in your last post -
1-5pretty much agreed ... just a matter of ironing out details and implementing.
6. Yes, we use many criteria to restrict our questgivers from bestowing quests... some only to certain classes, levels, aligns, etc., as well as our general restriction on patrons' trust. Typically, in this module/game-world, a patron (questgiver) will only trust you with such important tasks if they trust your PC - this may take interacting with the patron a number of times, or referral by another PC, or other event-based criteria to initiate.
7. Be sure to get a taste of the crafting system (go to South Algrada and visit the College of Dohral where four professors await to teach you their four crafts). Then let's start a new thread to expand upon these notions some.

No problem I like the idea of helping create a world =]
1) Yes based on a percentage say when you are at 10 - 25% and epic fighter is definitely a good idea for this perc.
2) Again I think this is good reserved for epic or higher level caster bending nature to their will, colouring the alignment. Although I do think younger casters should have some alignment spells just so they're not totally isolated from the perc.
3) Ah nice so it would simply be implementing that in a script instead of HAK if possible to keep the server accessible.
4) Thanks man, I just think it would be SO much more fun to see a druid riding a bear and ranger riding a wolf it would look awesome and add more depth. Animal fatigue? (would need to get off the animal and let it rest).
5) cool
6) That make sense. I like it. Could you have quests that become accessed at certain levels?
7) Pure Class benefits:
Fighter can make the strongest swords + gain a bonus to AC for their dedication to their home land, or a sheild bonus they get a +5 ac bonus on their sheild.
Barbarian gets a bonus to their endurance and ability to craft the strongest Axes.
Sorc can summon great demons from the astral plain as a reliant servants.
Wizzard's can forge the strongest magical items, extended or special long term buffs for weapons, perhaps a magical based crafting system?
I dunno what do you think to some of those?

Oakenheart, MANY THANKS - we appreciate feedback (especially in this forum). A couple questions, a couple comments, and then I'll leave it to Eriniel and you to take up the next steps in the discussion (watching for your feedback).
1) I'm wondering if this might be a nice perc of being an Epic Fighter? Or at least something similar, as numbers like HP are variable... maybe based on a percentage... maybe even deity-favor based chance to trigger?
2) Most spells can be altered to various degrees. Wondering if maybe we might trigger such things for higher level casters - reflecting the casters' influence on the magic 'maturing' at some point. Would like to have more than just a visual/text change tho, perhaps other modified effects for some spells?
3) Yes, I've seen the animations somewhere, if they are in the cep+nwn that we use I'm sure it could be done - flying is only 'mostly' completed atm.
4) way cool notion - feedback?
5) sounds like might be a good deployment of our henchmen system ... still rounding out our collection of npc henchmen (anyone who wants to help - just say the word). Feedback?
6) We use a modified form of Vuldrick's Persistent Quest system so our quests are persistent where appropriate. Example: killing rats in the sewer or trolls in their lair is a 'perpetual' or self-renewing environment, and one _could_ be sent there any number of times if one is willing. Often we like to have several quests use the same area for different purposes.
7) I like the pure class percs, atm, a pure class spellcaster can do the best magic item creation - but beyond that we don't have any special percs that I can think of....
GOOD POINTS - please keep the feedback and ideas flowing. All are welcome to comment.
